Choosing a Treatment Strategy for the NSTE-ACS Patient: Early Invasive vs Initial Conservative Therapy

  Printer-friendly version

In this interactive case study, Catalin Boiangiu, MD, describes a 53-year-old man who presents to the emergency department with chest pain. Using the presenting symptoms, electrocardiograms, and laboratory tests, Dr Boiangiu demonstrates how to evaluate and stratify the patient for risk so as to determine the optimal treatment strategy. The proper courses of action as the patient’s condition evolves over time are discussed in detail.
