VTE in the Medically Ill (Cancer) Patient

  Printer-friendly version

In this interactive case presentation, Dr Franklin Michota presents the case of a 71-year-old man with non–small-cell lung cancer who, 5 days after discharge from the hospital for treatment of a lung infection, presents with acute onset of shortness of breath and pleuritic chest pain. Dr Michota focuses on the role of venous thromboembolism prophylaxis for this patient, who is at particularly high risk for deep vein thrombosis.
