Recent Clinical Trials in High-risk ST-Segment Elevation Myocardial Infarction (STEMI) Patients: Focus on PCI

  Printer-friendly version

C. Michael Gibson, MS, MD, FACC presents data from recent clinical trials, including ExTRACT-TIMI (Enoxaparin and Thrombolysis Reperfusion for Acute Myocardial Infarction Treatment-Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction) 25 and other studies, on the use of antithrombotic therapy in high risk ST elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI) patients. Patient populations assessed include those with advanced age, diabetes, or reduced renal function, as well as in those undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention. This slide kit includes evidence on the benefit of reducing the dosage of antithrombotic agents in high-risk patients.
